The Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) said six sports are being targeted to be played in late- September, October and early-November as part of the country’s hosting of the 30th SEAG scheduled Nov. 30-Dec. 11.

The six sports will be named after the SEAG Technical Delegates meeting on Sept. 4, according to Phisgoc Chief Executive Officer Tats Suzara.

“When you say test event, it means that it’s going to be a full-service event, meaning all the committees involved will be at work,” said Suzara.

All the major host sites – New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, Subic and Manila – are going to be used during the test events.

Suzara also clarified that this weekend’s activities at the New Clark City, featuring competitions in swimming and athletics, are mere “sports rehearsals.”

New Clark City is the venue of the newly-built 20,000-capacity track stadium and 2,000-seater aquatics center.

The 2019 SEAG will have 56 sports and 530 gold medals up for grabs among 11 nations.
