Unbeaten Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo outclassed Panya Uthok via unanimous decision on Saturday evening to capture the vacant World Boxing Council Asia featherweight title at Bohol Wisdom Gymnasium in Tagbiliran City.

Magsayo, 24, delivered a clinical performance against his Thai opponent all throughout the 12 rounds to keep his undefeated record of 20 fights with 14 knockouts. The three judges gave all scores to Magsayo, giving him a favorable 120-108, 118-110 and 120-108 scores.

Magsayo had a strong left hook to Uthok in the opening round before sustaining his aggression in the first four rounds, but the Thai remained standing and trying to get his composure despite being cornered in the ropes.

The Tacloban City born fighter sustained his aggression in the middle rounds until round seven with Uthok just hiding his face against his opponent’s superb power shots.

Uthok got some power shots, but that wasn’t enough to stun Magsayo in the ninth round.

Magsayo relied on timely jabs and combos in the final three rounds, where the Thai had no answers until the last bell sounded.

Uthok, 29, known for his stunning ninth round technical knockout win over Filipino AJ Banal last October 20, 2012 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, dropped to 53-7 win-loss record with 35 knockouts.
