A quiet residential street in Surrey’s Fraser Heights community was rocked by gunfire late Tuesday afternoon.

According to Surrey RCMP, officers were called to the 15900-block of 111th Avenue at 4:50 p.m. with reports of multiple shots fired.

“Officers arrived and located two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” the police statement read. “Both men were taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.”

Surrey RCMP’s serious crime unit is investigating.

According to a report, the men were sitting in a black sedan when they were shot at. That vehicle then sped off before crashing onto the front lawn of a nearby home.

The shooting is believed to be targeted and there is no further risk to the public.
