THE wife of Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson 3rd, who was gunned down in Manila on Thursday, said she now fears for her life and declared that if something happened to her, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam should be blamed.

Lalaine Yuson said two of the four men who attacked her husband were Cam’s henchmen.

“‘Pag may nangyari sa akin, si Sandra Cam lang may kagagawan (If something happened to me, it would be the handiwork of Sandra Cam),” Lalaine told reporters.
She said the two other gunmen were police operatives from Masbate.

Lalaine appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte for help, saying Cam is powerful and has ties with top officials.

Duterte appointed Cam as PCSO board member in 2017.

Yuson’s widow also threatened to file charges against police officers of the Manila Police District’s (MPD’s) station 5 for alleged coverup. She said it took time before authorities could respond to the killing in Sampaloc.

“Para po akong nagka-idea na merong cover-up and switching dahil sa delay (I smell a cover-up because of the delay),” she added.
Lalaine expressed dismay with Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., MPD chief, who reportedly advised her to file charges of illegal possession of firearms against the suspects.

But Danao said more charges could be filed against the suspects later.

“Yung nakita mismo sa kanila are the firearms, yan po yung isa nating pwedeng maifile, para lang mahold natin sila (We found firearms and we can file the firearms charges so we can have reason to detain them),” he explained.

Danao said the suspects were positively identified by several witnessess on Friday.

They are Bradford Solis, Juanito de Luna, Junel Gomez and Rigor dela Cruz.

WHO ME? PCSO board member Sandra Cam

Cam, however, denied any involvement in the attack.

“I have nothing to do with the ambush,” she said.

She lamented that her family was being dragged into the crime because her son Marco ran against the victim’s son Charmax Jan Yuson, in the elections in May.
Yuson defeated Cam.

“It is so unfair that our family is being dragged into this, we’ve moved on from that election,” Cam said in a statement.

She added that while she was “sympathetic with the bereaved family,” Mrs. Yuson’s “imputations and allegations are highly libelous.”

“I commiserate with her loss but Mrs. Yuson doesn’t have the license to malign the reputation of our family. I will act accordingly with that malicious imputation of crime,” Cam said.
