Abbotsford crash leaves man dead, passenger seriously hurt

A man in his 30s died and his female passenger was seriously injured after a single-vehicle accident in Abbotsford on Thursday afternoon.
In a prepared statement, Const. Deanna Dixon, of the Abbotsford Police Department, said emergency services were called to the 32000-block of Old Yale Road in central Abbotsford at 5:11 p.m.
“Emergency Services arrived on scene and located two injured people, a male driver in his early 30’s, and a female passenger of unknown age at this time,” Dixon said. “Sadly, the male has succumbed to his injuries. The female has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.”
The name of the victim has not been released and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
