Shallow LPA spotted outside PAR

MANILA, Philippines — A shallow low pressure area (LPA) was spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Sunday afternoon.

The LPA was spotted 2,210 kilometers east of Mindanao as of 2 p.m., Sunday.

While there were no indications that the shallow LPA would develop into a storm in the next two to three days, its extension would bring rain showers to the Luzon and Visayas regions.

The shallow LPA is also inside the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), which affects Mindanao.

FEATURED STORIES

Due to the ITCZ, the whole Mindanao region will have cloudy weather with scattered rain showers.
