Man found dead after reports of shots fired in Campbell River

CAMPBELL RIVER — The body of a man was found by police outside a home in Campbell River on Wednesday.
Police say they received a report of shots being fired at about 2:30 a.m., and, when officers arrived, they found the dead man.
The Mounties are asking the public to stay away from the area as they conduct their investigation, which includes forensic units, police-dog services and the major-crimes unit.
Police say they’re also asking anyone who might have information about the incident to contact the RCMP.
