THERE are no reports of severe damage to ports and regional airports in Mindanao after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck parts of the region on Wednesday night.

Transportation Assistant Secretary for Communications Goddes Hope Libiran said that based on reports from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the Cotabato Airport only sustained a cracked window glass panel.

Air hubs in Davao, Tambler, Laguindingan, and Butuan were not damaged.

Philippine Ports Authority General Manager Jay Santiago said in a separate advisory that while there was no reported damage to the Port of General Santos, the agency decided to temporarily shut down its operations until Thursday morning to pave way for a thorough inspection of all its structures.

“We are making sure that all persons are safe and that the integrity of structures are ascertained first,” Santiago said. LISBET K. ESMAEL
