Aritzia is getting into the menswear game. Well, sort of.

The Vancouver-based retailer revealed its first foray into men’s fashion, the Mr. Super Puff, a new take on the company’s supersized puffer coat design from its in-house line Tna.

“We were already seeing an interest in the women’s Super Puff from men, so we decided to meet that demand with the Mr. Super Puff,” Sally Parrott, the senior vice-president of marketing for the brand, explains of the new outerwear option.

The design, Parrott says, was the perfect piece to start with thanks to its recognizable role. Not to mention its online popularity, which has been influenced by celebrity endorsements from the likes of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber.

“It’s an iconic Aritzia piece,” Parrott says. “It’s versatile and easy to wear, and men are already wearing it. We also anticipate a variety of our customers wearing the Mr. Super Puff — not just men — given the trend towards more oversized puffers.”

Despite the early interest in the outerwear design, Parrott says the company isn’t eyeing a full expansion into the men’s fashion space, just yet.

“Not at this time, but anything is possible,” she says.
