Terrace RCMP are asking for the public’s help following the “suspicious death” of a pedestrian early Sunday morning.

Mounties had responded to a report of an intoxicated male pedestrian on Highway 16 at 1:45 a.m. but were unable to locate the man.

Police, responding to another report, later discovered an unresponsive man lying on a road parallel to Highway 16 at 5 a.m.

The man, identified as Blaine Frisk of Kamloops, was taken to hospital but died hours later.

“He is the same man from the call received around 1:45 a.m.,” said RCMP spokeswoman Const. Crystal Evelyn.

The cause of death was not revealed.

Investigators are seeking dashcam footage that could assist in their investigation.

Anyone who had contact with Frisk after 1 a.m. — or has information concerning the night’s events involving Frisk — is asked to call Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400 and reference file 19-12330. Those wishing to report anonymously can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
