DEPUTY Speaker Michael “Mikee” Romero, captain of the Philippine polo team,fell from his horse during a practice in Argentina but said that he would play in the Southeast Asian Games that would be held in Manila in November

To prepare the Air Asia team for the La Canada Polo Club final in Buenos Aires.

“Will still play pero (but) not all games…Therapy ako (Will have therapy). Xray and MRI ako after SEA Games na (I will have X-ray and MRI after the SEA Games or they may not allow me to play.) Baka di ako palaruin pa, (They might not even allow me to play.)” he said on Thursday when asked if he would still represent the national team in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games polo competition.

Romero, congressional representative of 1Pacman Party-list and stepson of the late veteran actor Eduardo “Eddie” Garcia, was unable to walk for two days after the accident.

The SEA Games polo competition will be held in Batangas starting on Nov. 24. REINA TOLENTINO
