BREAKING: Multiple Victims Are Reported In California High School Shooting

At least five people are injured following a mass shooting at a high school in Santa Clarita, California, on Thursday morning, according to city officials.

One local hospital wrote on Twitter that they had received two patients in critical condition, and that three more were currently being transported to them.

NBC "Today in LA" anchor Adrian Arambulo is reporting there have been seven victims but it’s still unclear what kinds of injuries they’ve sustained.

Reports of the shooting at Saugus High School came through before 8 a.m. local time.

As of 8:30 a.m, the suspect was still at large and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department described the scene as an “active shooter situation.”

Aerial footage of the scene showed patients being transported from the school on stretchers.

Saugus High School is located about 35 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Neighboring elementary schools were placed on lockdown.

Former Congresswoman Katie Hill attended Saugus High School and has been sharing what she’s seeing on CNN.

“I went to Saugus. I live in Saugus now,” Hill told CNN. “You can see three helicopters and you can hear the sirens from my backyard right now.”
