1 dead in Taguig City fire

A fire razed a residential area in Taguig City before dawn on Saturday that left one dead, a Southern Police District report said.

Fire Supt. Randolf Bidess, Taguig City Fire Marshall, said that Rose Franco, 39, was trapped inside her house.

Initial investigation said that the fire broke out at 1:10 a.m. at Dimasalang St., Barangay Hagonoy and was declared out at about 2:25 a.m.

Based on the report, several firetrucks responded to the scene.

A total of three houses and eight families were also affected, the report added.

Meanwhile, investigators have yet to identify the cause and the estimated damage. JAN ARCILLA
