Gunshots ring out in New Westminster neighbourhood

A residential neighbourhood in New Westminster was a bevy of police activity Sunday night through Monday morning as officers searched for a gunman.
New Westminster police responded to a report of gunshots in the 200 block of Osborne Avenue, down the street from Herbert Spencer Elementary School, around 7:30 p.m Sunday.
The suspect fled the area before police arrived.
No one was reported injured but police determined shots had been fired in what they described as a “targeted, isolated event.”
Police remained at the scene Monday morning canvassing residents.
“Investigators are speaking with witnesses and other parties who may be involved,” said Sgt.Josh Hooker. “Because we are still in the early stages of the investigation, detectives are working hard to determine what exactly happened.”
