Rock slide closes Highway 93 near Fairmont Hot Springs

A rock slide has closed Highway 93 in both directions in the southeast Kootenays.
The slide, which occurred around 8 a.m. on Thursday, has closed the highway between Dutch Creek and Westside roads, about four kilometres south of the Fairmont Hot Springs resort.
There were no reports of injuries.
The Ministry of Transportation says the road will remain closed indefinitely until a geotechnical assessment can be completed.
