Novice autocross champion Karol Collantes relied on his aggressive driving skills to post his biggest win in the Clark Global City-South Asialink Finance Corp. Superbattle recently with Tarmac Gymkhana as the featured discipline organized by MP Turbo.

Using his well-sorted, four-door, Pertua/Alpha Racing Tecnica/Mark Young Racing sponsored Honda Civic, with just a single cam D16A engine, Collantes was able to post the best time of the day with 1:36.43 in his second run.

Coming in second overall was autocross and slalom champion Ryan Ablang with 1:37.87. The tight contest between the two leaders came to an end when Ablang hit a pylon in his second run, preventing him from improving his time.

In the Open FWD class, Subic driver Oliver Rodriguez drove his teammate’s Mitsubishi Lancer to first place with a time of 1:51.81. His best time came in his second run when he drove well and dropped his time by more than 4 seconds. Coming in second overall was Raffy Dizon in his Toyota Corolla, clocking 1:54.34. Both drivers were first timers on the track, but they managed to post their times before the rains came in the late afternoon. The Beginners Class was won by George Ivan Jimenez, who set a very good time of 1:54.93 in his firstRally of Champions (ROC) tarmac event.

The sprawling and excellently developed Clark Global City hosted two rounds of the MP Turbo ROC, in which the SAFC Superbattle was part of the race-filled weekend. Both the Round 2 Tarmac Gymkhana and Round 3 Dirt RallyX ran simultaneously, giving motor sports fans an exciting weekend.

CGC Vice Chairman and President Wilfredo Placino, Business Development Manager Simon Tantoco and Estate Manager Darwin Escano threw in their support and promised to host more ROC races at Clark in the future.

Ford Philippines provided their tough Raptor and Wildtrak pick-ups as the official Dirt RallyX ROC vehicles. Toyota Dealers Balintawak and Quezon Avenue provided their race winning Toyota Vios Cup cars for the Tarmac Gymkhana ROC. BF Goodrich and Michelin were the official tires for the dirt and tarmac races, respectively.
