Kris Aquino’s former business partner arrested at NAIA

THE former business partner of television personality Kris Aquino was arrested upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 from Thailand, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Friday.
Immigration authorities identified Aquino’s business partner as Nicardio M. Falcis II, who has two standing warrants of arrest at the Taguig Regional Trial Court, Branch 117 and 70, for estafa through misappropriation or conversion, and violation of Section 9 of Republic Act 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act.
Falcis who arrived on Thursday could post a P6,000 bail in court for his temporary liberty for estafa and P60,000 for his alleged violation of the access devices law, according to the NAIA-National Bureau of Investigation.
Falcis arrived with his family but upon presenting his passport to immigration officials was informed of his arrest.
He was indicted for estafa and fraudulent use of access device by Taguig City prosecutor’s office after Aquino filed a complaint accusing him of making unathorized purchases amounting to 62,784.32 using the actress corporate credit card.
Court dismissed the complaint of qualified theft against him over Aquino’s failure to establish all elements of crime of qualified theft. BENJAMIN L. VERGARA
