Patient missing from Coquitlam psychiatric hospital located

Update – 3:17 p.m.: The missing patient has been found.

Coquitlam police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a patient who went missing from the Colony Farm Forensic Psychiatric Hospital.

Sukhdev Singh Badyal was reported missing Saturday evening around 8:40p.m. and is wanted on a warrant of committal.

He is described as a 47-year-old South Asian man, with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. Badyal is about 5-foot-11 and weighs about 215 pounds. It’s not known what Badyal was wearing at the time he left the hospital.

“Badyal may behave in a way that presents a risk to themselves or the public, so if you see Badyal, police ask that you not approach Badyal and instead call 911 immediately,” said Staff Sgt. Tony Porato in a media release.
