Fire razes Thai restaurant on Broadway

Vancouver police completely closed Broadway to traffic near Fir Street Monday morning as firefighters battled a restaurant fire.
The two-alarm fire broke out around 7:30 a.m. at the Bob Likes Thai Food location at 1521 West Broadway.
“The kitchen suffered extensive fire and smoke damage,” said Dave Rosenlund, assistant chief with Vancouver Fire and Rescue.
He said the fire, which was fully extinguished by 9 a.m., was mostly contained to the restaurant but a bitcoin business above the eatery did suffer minor damage to its utility room.
Rosenlund said it’s too early to determine a cause of the fire.
The fire investigator is at the scene.
The section of Broadway between Fir and Granville which was closed to traffic in both directions has been reopened.
