Abbotsford police are investigating two armed robberies on Monday night that they believe were carried out by the same masked man.

The first robbery occurred at 9:52 p.m. at a liquor store in 32100 block of Marshall Road. Police say a masked man with a handgun made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A gas station in the 9600 block of Fraser Highway was hit next at 10:25 p.m.

A man in a mask produced a handgun and obtained cash and cigarettes before fleeing in an unknown direction.

No one was hurt in either robbery.

Police say the suspect is believed to be a white or light brown skin man, about 5-foot-8 with a medium build.

In a photo taken from a surveillance footage, the gunman can be seen wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood, a dark flat-brimmed baseball hat and a black-and-white handkerchief that covered his face.

“There were several people in the area when the robberies occurred, and detectives are looking to speak with any witnesses that may have seen any suspicious people or activity,” Abbotsford police said in a release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 604-859-5225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
