It really seems like Vancouver's Grimes is pregnant with Elon Musk's baby

One day after sharing a photo to Instagram that really made it seem like she was pregnant with Elon Musk’s child, Vancouver singer-songwriter Grimes has shared another photo to Instagram that really, really makes it seem like she’s pregnant with Elon Musk’s child.
In the latest image, Grimes is pregnant.
But is Grimes pregnant in real life? Or is this just some kind of arty teaser image for her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene, which is set to come out next month?
It’s hard to say for certain, because Grimes, born Claire Elise Boucher, is a bit of a mystery. For all we know, there is no album and Miss Anthropocene has been the baby’s name this whole time. She could follow up these posts with an ambient, arty single built around sonogram sounds and infant mewling and we’d be no closer to the truth — it’s basically what her music sounds like most of the time anyway.
Grimes did offer further evidence in a reply to an Instagram comment. “Being knocked up is a very feral and war-like state of being,” she wrote. “Might as well be what it is.”
But she could have been opining on the central message of Rosemary’s Baby. Grimes is very insightful.
Or maybe she’s Rosemary. Occasional collaborator Janelle Monae has already congratulated her, and what kind of monster misleads Monae? It seems safe to assume this is what we think it is.
It also seems safe to assume the father is Musk, the Tesla founder and Howard Hughes type whose relationship with Grimes was first made public at the 2018 Met Gala, although I guess it could be some sort of space baby or robot infant developed with Space-X technology.
That would be on-brand for the couple, nicknamed Grusk, who apparently bonded over the worst, nerdiest and most needlessly esoteric pun ever made — Rococo’s Basilisk, a bit of wordplay based on a thought experiment about an artificially intelligent thing that kills humans not despite, but as a result of, being programmed to pursue exclusively human good.
It’s just the sort of thing you want a brainy tech entrepreneur and high-concept visual artist to be joking about as they shape the future with their ideas. What a truly charming local couple.
Musk has yet to weigh in on the announcement. He did offer up a tweet early Thursday morning as speculation began to grow, but it didn’t really move the needle.

Perhaps there’s more to this message than meets the eye, but let’s not dwell on it. Instead let’s focus on the local angle: a renowned Vancouver artist is pregnant. Probably.
