Don’t throw away your shot to see Hamilton on stage in Vancouver.

Broadway Across Canada has announced its 2020/2021 line-up of touring productions, bringing Lin-Manuel Miranda’s highly acclaimed production to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre next year.

The full season will kick off in the fall of 2020 with Broadway favourites Chicago and Jesus Christ Superstar, while Anastasia will go to stage in January 2021 and Hamilton from June 22 to July 25, 2021.

Hamilton, which recounts the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, features music heavily influenced by hip hop, R&B and traditional show tunes. The production is inspired by historian Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton, and first premiered off-Broadway in 2015.

It has since transferred to Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre and has been staged in Chicago, London, and for a brief engagement in Puerto Rico. Hamilton has won a number of awards including the 2016 Tony for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

Miranda is currently set to see his Broadway breakout production In The Heights jump to the big screen in a feature-length film directed by Jon Chu and starring Anthony Ramos. He is also directing the Andrew Garfield-starring Tick, Tick… Boom, which was nabbed by Netflix earlier this year.

The touring production of Hamilton features a touring cast, and not the original cast members from Broadway.
