Marcelito Pomoy’s ‘leaked’ AGT finals video a hit on Facebook

SINCE Monday morning in Manila, Marcelito Pomoy’s performance in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” finals had been viewed 10 million times, 9.1 million views in the first six minutes of the show on its Facebook page.
Singing “Beauty And The Beast” in his signature dual voices, the YouTube video has garnered 6.56 million as of posting time, while his semi-finals performance of “Time To Say Goodbye” on February 4 has reached 12 million views. His audition performance of “The Prayer” now stands at 24 million views.
The leaked video of his finals performance on YouTube had been drawing reactions from netizens around the world. Some had been saying that if indeed he placed only fifth in the results, that would be an injustice and Judge Simon Cowell should be blamed for it, as the choice for the song was his.
In his post on Facebook on Tuesday, Pomoy expressed amazement at the overwhelming support he had been getting from fans around the world.
“I love you all… I really don’t need to win this contest because for me I am already a winner.. For in your hearts I can feel how you all feel.. I can feel that I win your hearts… so I am already a winner.. But if I won this contest it’s gonna be a big opportunity for me to share the prize money to all the needy.. So still hoping and praying for being the champion of this contest… 6 minutes with 9.1M views.. Love you all!” he wrote.
The champion of “Pilipinas Got Talent 2011” said that he wanted people to still watch the show even if his performance had been released on YouTube.
“Please watch this, guys. I really don’t know what happened. But I think a leak has been revealed so AGT needs to post the whole video to solidify the views. Hope you like it. God bless us all!” he enjoined.
