Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa has ordered another revamp on some officials of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa

PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac on Friday said Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan received another promotion, this time as the deputy chief for administration, the second highest post in the NCRPO.

Bathan was promoted on February 12, barely one week after being promoted as deputy chief for operations, the third highest post among Metro Manila police.

This after former deputy chief for administration Brig. Gen. Herminio Tadeo Jr. was appointed as director of the PNP’s Health Service.

Bathan recently figured in a controversy after grabbing the cellphone of GMA reporter Jun Veneracion during the Traslacion 2020.

No administrative charges were filed against Bathan, receiving instead an admonition and warning, as NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas said Veneracion had forgiven him.

Replacing Bathan as deputy chief for operations is Brig. Gen. Florendo Quibuyen.

Meanwhile, Col. Steve Ludan has been designated as the acting executive officer of the Directorate for Research and Development.

From acting director of the Regional Internal Affairs Service of Region 11 (Davao Region), Col. Jonas Ejoc is now director.

Gamboa had ordered the reorganization as part of efforts to reform the command structure of the 205,000-strong police force.
