AN employee in one of the offices of a building that also houses CNN Philippines tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), forcing the media company to go off the air for at least 24 hours.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, CNN Philippines said the person worked at a nearby office of the Worldwide Corporate Center in Mandaluyong City, prompting its management to disinfect the building immediately.

“We have prepared for this emergency. For more than two weeks, many of our colleagues have been isolated and working from home already,” the media firm said.

It also said that it has anticipated an event like this to happen and assured the public that its team would continue to gather stories for its audience.

“Please be assured that we will continue to deliver news and information you can trust… We will keep doing our work,” the network said.

The Department of Health (DoH) has reported 187 cases of Covid-19 nationwide, including 14 deaths and five recoveries.
