NBA: Clippers’ Norman Powell out with foot fracture

Los Angeles Clippers guard Norman Powell suffered a fractured medial sesamoid bone in his left foot in just his third game with the team.

“The treatment is non-surgical at this time and there is no timetable for his return,” the Clippers said in a news release Sunday.

The Clippers acquired Powell and forward Robert Covington from the Portland Trail Blazers on Feb. 4 in exchange for guards Eric Bledsoe and Keon Johnson, forward Justise Winslow and a 2025 second-round draft pick.

Powell then sustained the foot injury Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks when he came down awkwardly while being fouled at the rim. He immediately got up and limped to the Clippers’ bench.
