More than 200 Zambales schools resume in-person classes
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 238 public and private schools have already resumed in-person classes under the progressive expansion of the program of the Department of Education (DepEd).
All of these schools underwent periodic assessment before passing the standards and completing the requirements set by the DepEd.
Last month, the DepEd authorized the start of limited in-person classes in public and private schools under alert levels 1 and 2, the most relaxed in the country’s five-tier alert level system.
Some of the conditions set by DepEd include the concurrence of the local government units and coordination with barangay officials.
Students participating in the in-person classes must also secure the written consent of their parents.
According to DepEd, only fully vaccinated teachers may participate in the classes, while vaccinated students would be preferred.
On February 21, at least 78 other public schools in eight towns in this province resumed their in-person classes as part of the expanded pilot run of the program. INQ
