3 kids drown in Zambales river

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Three children ages 3 to 5 drowned while swimming in a river in Barangay San Miguel here on Monday (March 28) afternoon, police said.

Police Sgt. Noel Cunanan, investigator of the municipal police station, identified the victims as Brietanya Alexa Ancho, 3; and her cousins, John Andre Guania, 5, and Prince Nythan Ocol, 5.

Cunanan said the children were last seen alive while playing without an adult companion along the shoreline and at a nearby resort around 2 p.m.

Witnesses said the river where the victims’ bodies were found floating was located a few meters from the shoreline.
