Cebu City drug busts net 3 suspects, meth worth P2.5M

MANILA, Philippines — Law enforcers arrested three drug suspects and seized P2.5 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu, in two buy-bust operations conducted in Cebu City on Sunday and Tuesday.

The Philippine National Police issued a statement about the operations on Wednesday.

The first two suspects were arrested on Sunday in a joint operation by police officers and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Barangay Lorega, Cebu City.

The suspects were identified as Jurafe Ramirez, known as Oyi, and Nicole Sanchez, 18.

Authorities confiscated shabu was estimated to be worth P1.462 million.

The third suspect was arrested on Tuesday in a buy-bust operation by police officers in Barangay Puna Princesa in Cebu City.

The suspect was identified as Johnrey “Jun” Bayon, 38, who the PNP categorized as a “high-value individual.”

The confiscated shabu was estimated to be worth P1,054 million.

“I laud the efforts of our Central Visayas and Cebu City police for this back-to-back accomplishment,” Gen, Dionardo Carlos, the PNP chief, said.
