4 Chinese nationals dead in Lapu-Lapu City shootout

CEBU CITY––Four Chinese nationals were killed Monday in what police described as a shootout in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG)-Visayas Field Unit has yet to release the names of the suspects, who were allegedly members of a kidnap-for-ransom group.

In a statement, the AKG said they received information from China about the illegal activities of the suspects, prompting them to conduct an investigation.

The suspects allegedly sought P7 billion from the family of the victim, Lyu Xingou, in exchange for his release.
