LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested five suspected drug personalities, and recovered more than P524,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations on Friday, March 17, in the Bicol region.
Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of Bicol police, said in a report Saturday, March 18, that Rene Bermejo, 45, sold at around 5:45 p.m. a sachet of shabu worth P4,500 to an undercover agent in a hotel in Barangay Tagas in Daraga town in Albay.
Calubaquib said 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 were confiscated from Bermejo.
In Pili town in Camarines Sur, Dante Listana, 64; Paola Siar, 41; and Ariel Listana, 34, were arrested in Barangay La Purisima around 3:30 a.m.
Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said they recovered 11 sachets or 11 grams of shabu worth P183,600 from the suspects.
Domingo said Dante was a high-value target and on the illegal drugs watch list in the region.
In Minalabac town, Nores Santillan, 21, was also arrested in Barangay Antipolo around 1:15 p.m.
Domingo said two sachets of shabu worth P1,360 were confiscated from the suspect tagged as a newly-identified drug suspect.
The suspects were in police custody and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
