Cristine Reyes after ‘totropahin’ remark on Marco Gumabao resurfaces: ‘Definitely not tropa anymore’

Cristine Reyes appears to have had a change of heart as she declared that Marco Gumabao, who she said was too young to be her boyfriend in a 2019 “Totropahin o Jojowain” challenge, is “definitely not a tropa (friend) anymore.”

During her October 2019 interview for the now-defunct show “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” the actress took on the said challenge wherein Gumabao was one of the celebrities she was asked to label as a potential friend or lover.

“Si Marco, we’re friends. Ang bata pa ni Marco. Ano ako, cougar?” Reyes said when the actor’s photo flashed on the screen.

A snippet of this interview recently resurfaced on social media after Gumabao shared a photo of him and Reyes, which apparently confirmed their romance.

Reyes then seemingly addressed her resurfaced “totropahin” remark by showing herself locked in Gumabao’s embrace, through her Instagram Stories.

“[Definitely] not tropa anymore. Home kasi,” she said, referencing the actor’s post in which he called the actress his “home and adventure all at once.”

Gumabao, for his part, poked fun at Reyes’ 2019 interview through his Instagram page as well.

Reyes and Gumabao first sparked dating speculations last March after they were spotted together in Siargao, and were seen holding hands while hanging out in Makati. Gumabao clarified that while the two of them shared something “special,” he did not want to put any label on it at the time because it “puts a lot of pressure” on the relationship.

The actor then seemed to have made their relationship official last April 24.

Reyes’ last known relationship was with her ex-husband Ali Khatibi, with whom she shares her daughter Amarah.  /ra
