DAR installs 148 land beneficiaries, grants land ownership to 26 others

MANILA, Philippines— The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has installed 148 land beneficiaries and granted land ownership certificates to 26 more in Negros Occidental.

Installation refers to the process in which agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) take possession of the land granted to them through certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs).

Of the 148 ARBs, 112 were installed in a 46.2957-hectare land in Brgy. Hawaiian, Silay City, while 36 were installed in an 18.8779-hectare land in Brgy. Paitan, Escalante City, according to a Monday statement by the reform bureau.

The Silay lands were previously managed by Pacita Gayoso and others, while Rosario Carcueva formerly managed the Escalante properties.

A total 25.2966 hectares of land were also granted to the 26 farmers who received their CLOAs. Gloria Galdeano, Ma previously owned these landholdings. Teresa Elordi, Rural Bank of Sagay, Inc., and Hermilinda Elordi.

Installation and CLOA issuances align with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to expedite land distribution to rightful beneficiaries, said DAR Western Visayas Director Sheila Enciso.

As of May 19, the agrarian reform authority announced that it has yet to validate over 410k hectares of land targeted for redistribution to ARBs.
