Arjo Atayde made the right choice with Maine Mendoza, says mom Sylvia Sanchez

Sylvia Sanchez said her son Arjo Atayde made the right choice in choosing Maine Mendoza as his wife, saying the TV host-actress is the type of partner who’s “very supportive” of her husband’s endeavors.

Sanchez sang praises for her daughter-in-law during a brief interview with reporters at the celebrity premiere of “Monster” earlier this month, according to Inquirer Bandera.

“Si Maine [Mendoza], asawa na niya, natutuwa na ako. Less na ako sama-sama sa kanya (Arjo Atayde). Nakakatuwa kasi talagang si Maine, misis na misis kay Arjo (Maine is his wife and I’m happy. I don’t accompany Arjo Atayde to events as much as before, but Maine is a devoted wife to my son),” she was quoted as saying.

Sanchez also disclosed that Mendoza now accompanies Atayde whenever he needs to fulfill his duties as an actor and producer.

“Talagang sobra niyang suportahan si Arjo. Nandu’n siya talaga. Talagang nakikita kong mabait siyang asawa (She really supports Arjo. She’s willing to be there for him at all times. I can see that she’s a really good wife),” she said, noting how much she can feel the “EAT” host’s love for Atayde.

“Hindi nagkamali ang anak ko sa pagpili kay Maine. Nakampante siya, nakampante ako na merong Maine Mendoza na nag-aalaga at nagmamahal sa anak ko ngayon (My son didn’t make a mistake in choosing Maine. He feels secure. I also feel secure that he has a Maine Mendoza who’s taking care of him and love him),” she further said.

Prior to getting involved with Atayde, Mendoza was previously paired with Alden Richards for which they were collectively known as the “AlDub,” a blend of their names (Alden and Yaya Dub) in the then Kapuso noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”

Richards, just recently came clean during a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview that he fell in love with Mendoza while they were a love team.

“Hypocrite po ako kung hindi… ayoko po sabihing alam niya pero I did confess,” he told Abunda. (I would be a hypocrite if I say no… I don’t want to speak for her and say she knew about it, but I did confess.)

Mendoza and Atayde tied the knot in a private ceremony in Baguio City last July, which was witnessed by their close friends and family. EDV
