Eva Patalinjug finally exchanged “I dos” with her long-time beau Francis Lim just a little over a year since their engagement in Finland. And while fourteen months would be enough time for some couples to prepare for their wedding, the beauty queen-turned-lawyer had extra challenges on her shoulders, with motherhood, law practice, and even mounting a national pageant also taking up her time.

But the 2018 Binibining Pilipinas Grand International and 2014 Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International titleholder brushed aside the qualms many have expressed about juggling way too many responsibilities not a lot of people can handle gracefully.

“It was not really hard because we had ample time to prepare. That is why I’m very grateful and happy that all my dream suppliers were available and very much willing to help in making our dream wedding into a reality,” Patalinjug told INQUIRER.NET in an exclusive online interview.

The new bride likewise thanked their parents and respective families “for being so supportive of our union,” and expressed her gratitude for her dream team of suppliers who brought her vision to life.

Francis Libiran created her wedding gown, as well as Lim’s and their son Frederick Ivan’s suits, while Daniel Manila made the gown she wore to the reception and the entourage’s dresses. Another set of outfits, one she wore during the preparations and another for the after-party, were from Oscar James.

Patalinjug and Lim’s union was officiated by Archbishop Palma at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral in Cebu City on Feb. 24. The ceremony was followed by a lavish reception event held at the convention center of Nustar Resort and Casino, the only Filipino 5-star hotel brand.

“Francis and I just wanted our wedding to be perfect, where all our loved ones are present and just an atmosphere filled with love, laughter, and memories that are bound to be remembered for the rest of our lives,” she shared.

Patalinjug also said she wanted the guests to just enjoy. “We wanted them to feel the love that we share as a couple, and to see that against all odds, we finally got to the finish line, that after seven years, we’re finally getting the commitment we both deserve,” she continued.

Just before the grand wedding event, Patalinjug was in Manila at the press conference called by the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant at the Sheraton Manila at the Newport complex in Pasay City on Feb. 19. There, the organization announced that she has been appointed as the global tilt’s new president, taking over the post from Jacqueline Tan-Sainz who stays on as CEO.
