House designates committee members for bicameral conference on exploitation bills

MANILA — The House of Representatives on Tuesday designated its members to the conference committee on the disagreeing provisions of Senate Bill No. 1819 and House Bill No. 9461.

The bills both aim at strengthening child protection safeguards, regulatory measures, policies, and enforcement mechanisms against online sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) and child sexual abuse or exploitation materials (CSAEM).

The lawmakers in the committee are:

• Rep. Rolando Valeriano

• Rep. Ronaldo Puno

• Rep. Bella Suansing

• Rep. Anna Veloso-Tuazon

• Rep. Joel Chua 

• Rep. Dadah Ismula

The House also announced the members of the conference committee on disagreeing provisions of Senate Bill No. 2410 and House Bill No. 8477, which both seek to institutionalize the Presidential Merit Scholarship Program, integrating the Bagong Pilipinas Merit Scholarship Program into a national framework to support top-performing students.

The members are:

The following House members were designated to the conference committee for the House Bill No. 9466 and Senate Bill No. 2272, which aim to convert the national feeding program into a national nutrition program by expanding its scope:

• Rep. Jaime Fresnedi 

• Rep. Anna Veloso-Tuazon

• Rep. Audrey Zubiri
