Guia Gomez elated over apparent reconciliation of JV, Jinggoy

San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez on Wednesday said she was elated that her son, JV, and his half-brother, Jinggoy, are now in good terms after they raised each other’s hands during the kick-off campaign of Hugpong ng Pagbabago in Pampanga last Tuesday.
“I’m glad when I saw it, I felt good and happy,” she told reporters.
Sen. JV Ejercito (left) and former Senate President Pro-Tempore Jinggoy Estrada finally buried the hatchet. Jinggoy surprisingly raised the hand of JV when introduced at the kick off of the campaign caravan of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-backed Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) slate here at the provincial Capitol.
Jinggoy and JV’s sibling rivalry worsened after the latter signed a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee report recommending plunder charges against his half-brother.
Gomez revealed that she was “hurt” when incumbent Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada chose to accompany Jinggoy during the filing for certificate of candidacy.
“It’s his (Erap’s) prerogative . As a mother, well, I think, yes… hurt,” she said.
To recall, the Estrada patriarch supported the candidacy of Jinggoy. This triggered JV to leave the Partido ng Masang Pilipino, the political party founded by their father.
JV then moved to the Nacionalist People’s Coalition.
