Rape case filed vs tricycle driver

DAVAO CITY — Police have filed a case against a tricycle driver who was reported molesting a 14-year-old in Sun City, Buhangin, 7 p.m. of July 2.

Police identified the suspect as Darrel Vallente, who claimed he was in a relationship with the minor.

But Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) investigator Jonnalyn Plana said this was not true.

“They don’t even know each other,” she said.

“The respondent is a tricycle driver who was hired by the victim to take her home.”

The suspect instead drove the vehicle towards a grassy area near Sun City and allegedly raped the minor.
