Thinking Port

Another port for thinking people…

These 11 Filipino Fashion Designers and Brands are in Milan for FASHIONPhilippines 2026

For the second edition of FASHIONPhilippines, 11 Filipino designers and brands flew to Milan for an exhibition program in partnership with Fondazione Sozzani. This year, the program placed as much attention on the realities of building a fashion business as it did on the clothes themselves, with participating labels undergoing business development, collection development, and mentorship aimed at international market readiness.

What made the showcase especially interesting was the range of voices within it. From sculptural jewelry and carved accessories to artisanal embroidery, romantic dressing, playful takes on Filipino life, and more experimental silhouettes, the labels offered very different ideas of what Filipino fashion can look like on an international stage.

Adam Pereyra Jewelry

Adam Pereyra’s jewelry catches the eye through accumulation. A pair of elongated earrings brings together cobalt blue, mottled forms, a speckled yellow bead, and textured metal, echoing Pereyra’s work with Philippine jewelry-making traditions and generational artisans.

Bagasao

At BAGASÁO, translucency and texture do most of the talking. The sheer bluish layer balances structure and ease, in keeping with Joseph Bagasao’s interest in unexpected silhouettes, meticulous construction, natural fibers, and repurposed textiles.

Calli

Luxury handbag brand Calli specializes in handmade clutches made from abaca, raffia, acacia wood, and solhiya. Founder Theresa Nepomuceno treasures traditional artistry and craftsmanship while creating contemporary pieces for women today.

Ched Studio

At Ched Studio, the craft is right on the surface. Embroidery and woven fabrics sit alongside relaxed, contemporary silhouettes, bringing Christian Edward Dalogaog’s use of Filipino heritage techniques into a more modern wardrobe.

Idyllic Summers

Idyllic Summers approaches dressing through softness. A cream look falls into lightweight layers and cascading ruffles, capturing the label’s idea of ease through breathable silhouettes, natural textiles, and the work of Filipino artisans.

Jun Escario

There is a particular kind of sensuality in Jun Escario’s clothes that does not need to announce itself. Fluid silhouettes, intricate draping, and hand-beaded details have long shaped the Cebuano designer’s work, giving his clothes their polished, intimate quality.

Orias

ORIAS approaches tropical dressing without turning it into resortwear. The relaxed blue-toned look feels easy against the body, while the woven bag brings texture into the mix, reflecting Vin Orias’ interest in natural materials, tailoring, heritage craft, and dressing for tropical life.

PLNGKE

PLNGKE starts with something familiar: everyday Filipino life. Its slightly off-kilter charm comes through in the playful styling and tactile details, reworking familiar materials, objects, and craft traditions into pieces that feel spirited rather than overly precious.

Renz Reyes

Renz Reyes turns volume into the main event. Ruffles gather and fold across the body, giving the silhouette a sense of movement while bringing together Reyes’ interest in tailoring, artisanal embellishment, and graphic forms.

Viña Romero

At Viña Romero, movement becomes part of the silhouette. The brand plays with structural manipulation and precise tailoring, reworking familiar wardrobe forms through a more fluid, androgynous lens.

Ziv Rei Alexi

Ziv Rei Alexi closes the selection on a more rebellious note. Based in Manila’s historic First United Building in Escolta, the label draws from Filipino culture, punk, and everyday observations, translating them into dynamic, avant-garde yet wearable clothes.
