4.3-magnitude quake hits Cotabato anew

BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Cotabato province anew early Wednesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor was still an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that rocked Cotabato province on October 16, 2019.
The new earthquake, which occurred at 6:22 p.m., was tectonic in origin and was plotted 28 kilometers (km) southeast of Tulunan town (Cotabato).
The tremor had a shallow depth of only 1 km, with the following registered intensities: Intensity 2 – Kidapawan City and Koronadal City, South Cotabato; and Intensity 1 in Tupi, South Cotabato.
No aftershocks and damages are expected from the new tremor, the state agency added. # # #
