PVL: Creamline dispatches Akari in Cebu to open Siklab campaign
MANILA — Creamline got off to a winning start in the Siklab series of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
The Cool Smashers dispatched Akari in straight sets, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18, as the PVL opened its landmark 10th season on Saturday.
Creamline dictated the pace throughout the match, forcing the Chargers to play catch-up against the reigning All-Filipino champions.
A Jema Galanza off-the-block kill brought the Cool Smashers within two points of victory at 23-18 in the third set. An out-of-system play that ended with another Galanza kill put Creamline on match point, before Michele Gumabao delivered the game-clinching attack off Grethcel Soltones’ hand.
The match capped an eventful day of volleyball and delighted the Visayan fans in attendance.
