Inigo Pascual on returning to his musical roots with his upcoming album: ‘I feel like myself’
“With the development of this album, I feel like myself and at the same time go back to my sound before. I am happy to be back in the Philippines.”
This is what singer-songwriter Inigo Pascual said about his upcoming album and the release of his newest single under ABS-CBN’s record label Star Music.

During the early preview launch of “Pagdating ng Panahon” MV, Inigo shared that working on the album has allowed him to write and record songs that feel closer to who he is as an artist.
“I started coming up with these songs the moment I started working on my album. There are a couple of songs that are approved and are written by other artists such as Jeremy G. I was also inspired by other artists on the fact that it’s gonna be making my album and it’s gonna be my comeback to Star Music, my home,” Inigo expressed.
While he has experimented with different sounds and genres throughout his career, Inigo said he wanted to reconnect with the musical roots that feel most familiar to him.
“I wanted to come back to all my sound and roots but when it comes to ‘Pagdating ng Panahon’ it was way more malalim,” he said. “I’m in an era when I enjoy ‘Pagdating ng Panahon’ lalo na sa panahon ng tag-ulan. Sumabay yung pagkasenti ko.”
“Pagdating ng Panahon” talks about patiently holding on to a love that may not yet be ready to return. The song captures the hope of waiting for someone to finally look back and realize that the love they have been searching for has been there all along.
For Inigo, the song also reflects his personal experience of living between the Philippines and the United States for several years.
“Being someone that lives and exist in two different countries, simultaneously for such long period, for me, it’s an anthem for people that missed their special someone that lives across the world na pagdating ng panahon magiging tayo pa rin whatever the struggles and what life throws at us, that what it means to me,” Inigo said.
The song is Inigo’s second release for 2026 under Star Music, following “Ikaw at Ikaw.” The singer admitted that returning to the sound he was known for initially felt unfamiliar, even though it also felt like coming home.
“When I did ‘Ikaw at Ikaw’, it did feel a little uncomfortable for me because it felt like something that feels like home but at the same time it feels so different all at once. It was like me coming back to a version of me that I knew couple years back and then life happened that I moved to the States for a bit, but then this second song, it feels like I still have that grasp of what I truly was before I did ‘Dahil Sa’yo.’ It was my type of music and the sound I really want to stick to,” Inigo explained.
He continued, “I feel like I’ve been experimenting with so many different sounds and genres but with this new album that I’m doing, I still have to hold on with the identity I have in the music industry.”
More than simply returning to a familiar sound, however, Inigo said creating the album has brought him back to the excitement he felt when he was just starting out in the music industry.
“For this whole album, I was just happy to work. I feel like the last project that I worked with, I was crying at the studio only because it’s sad songs. But now with these songs, it’s more like bumabalik ako doon sa pakiramdam ko noong una akong nagrecord at nagrelease ng kanta and to be able to release songs na only you knew to yourself before,” Inigo told PUSH ABS-CBN.
“It’s nice to see that something that you only wrote and that you only knew for sometimes is being sung by other people and is interpreted by their own way that is relative to them,” he added.
Inigo’s upcoming album is set to be released in the first quarter of 2027, featuring 13 tracks that include his own compositions as well as collaborations with other songwriters.
“The full album will come out first quarter next year,” he shared with PUSH ABS-CBN. “It’s gonna be 13 tracks. So, it’s a pretty big album that we’ve been working on. So, I’m really excited for it.”
The singer also teased that much of the album reflects him as a songwriter, while also giving him the opportunity to collaborate with some of the writers he admires.
“A lot of it is my compositions, a lot of it is my original songs, and some of it is composed by some of the best writers that I’ve met. Jeremy G actually wrote two of the songs in my album. So, I’m really excited for everyone to hear it,“ he shared.
As he celebrates another year of his life, Inigo hopes his new music will also mark another milestone in his career, saying: “I want to do something greater than ‘Dahil Sa’yo’ as my birthday wish and also the success of our whole album and the success of our music.”
