Comelec postpones ballot printing for Naga plebiscite, Batanes special polls

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday temporarily postponed the printing of ballots for the Naga City plebiscite and the congressional special elections in Batanes.
The printing of ballots for the two electoral events was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 14.
In an advisory, the Comelec said that it will revise the quantity to be printed for the plebiscite meant to ratify the conversion of Naga City, Camarines Sur into a highly urbanized city.

Meanwhile, the poll body also postponed the printing of ballots for the Nov. 28 special elections in Batanes.
The reason is because it has yet to receive a quotation from the National Printing Office following its Request for Quotation.
“Hence, the unit cost basis is not yet available,” the Comelec stated in the advisory.
A special election for the member of the House of Representatives for the lone legislative district of Batanes was set after the death of lawmaker Ciriaco Gato Jr. /apl
