NBI refers Duterte’s alleged SALN discrepancy to Ombudsman
Vice President Sara Duterte arrives at a Quezon City court. Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday referred to the Office of the Ombudsman its findings on the alleged discrepancies in Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement of assets, liabilities and net worth.
NBI agents turned over boxes of documents related to its investigation into Duterte’s alleged misdeclarations of her properties in her 2024 and 2025 SALNs.
The NBI on Monday presented photos and videos of properties linked to Duterte and her family, saying some allegedly declared as agricultural land reportedly had mansions, swimming pools and helipads.
Duterte on Tuesday denied owning the property mentioned by the NBI.
“Ang lote sa larawan na sinabi niyang nasa aking Statement of Assets, Liability, and Net Worth o SALN ay hindi sa akin,” Duterte said.
(The lot that he says is in my Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth or SALN is not mine.)
NBI Director Melvin Matibag challenged Duterte to show the property.
“Maganda po siguro baka sama-sama puntahan natin yung property nila kung may permission nila, para po makita natin. Ipakita po nila, huwag lamang yung salita,” he said.
(It might be best for us to go to the property together, if they give us permission, to show it to us.)
