Ben&Ben Tries for Grammy Award with ‘Leaves (Reimagined)’ | One Music PH
Ben&Ben sets their sights on the international stage as they submit their latest single “Leaves (Reimagined) for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, under the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
Already having a multitude of awards in the local scene, the folk-pop band is now aiming to add a Grammy Award to their mantle, which is something that they have always dreamed of. The band expressed gratitude for the opportunity to submit their song to the biggest, most prestigious award show in the globe, a move that was made possible by their record label, Sony Music Entertainment Philippines.
Leaves (Reimagined) is part of Ben&Ben‘s fourth studio album “Nine,” released on Sept. 24 and features seven other reimagined songs of the band from the different stages of their journey together, along with the tracks “9,” “Saranggola” and “Harinawa.” The song Leaves (Reimagined) in particular, means something to frontman Paolo Benjamin. For him, writing the song guided him in making sense of the past and overcoming what has hurt him.
“I hope that this grown-up version of the song will make people realize that forgiveness is an act that sets ourselves free, even if it’s extremely hard to do sometimes. Because as the new version says, it’s those closest to us that can hurt us the most. I hope that it encourages people to never give up on selflessly loving, even if it can get painful,” he said after telling his story of forgiveness.
First Round Voting for the Grammys runs from Oct. 12 to 22, and will determine the nominees across 100 categories. The official nominees will be announced on Nov. 16, with the 2027 Grammy Awards taking place on Feb. 7, 2027.
The band played all tracks from Nine at their sold-out Saranggola: The Concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum earlier this month, where drummer Jam Villanueva played her final show with them.
