Man steals nearly 20 kilos of chicken from QC market

MANILA (UPDATED) — A man pretending to be a market goer was caught on camera allegedly stealing nearly 20 kilograms of chicken at a privately-run market in Barangay E. Rodriguez in Quezon City.

The incident took place around 2:30a.m. Wednesday, while sellers at the market along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue were still preparing their stalls and only a few shoppers were present.

The chicken supplier and the stall owner only discovered that some of the chicken were missing after checking their inventory.

“Bale ho kasi, supplier kami. Ngayon po eh pagdating doon sa customer namin, kulang daw ho yung naideliver na manok namin,” said supplier Nel Escosio.

CCTV footage later revealed that a man had slipped a bagful of chicken inside his basket and immediately left.

“Kaya ho, pinacheck namin doon sa CCTV nila doon po nalaman na kulang po. Tsaka, na review na kinuha po ng magnanakaw,” Escosio said.

Market officials say the incident has been reported to the authorities.
