Elha Nympha explains withdrawal from ‘Inday’ musical

MANILA — Singer Elha Nympha withdrew from the upcoming musical “Inday” because of alleged contract breaches by its organizers, according to a statement from her legal counsel.

In an Instagram post late Thursday, Nympha published the statement from lawyer Carl Maria Vladimir S. Valera of Valera Acosta Tiu Law Offices, explaining her decision to leave the production.

“My official statement regarding my withdrawal from ‘Inday The Musical.’ Thank you to everyone who has shown me love, support, and understanding during this time. I trust that God has a purpose in every situation, and I leave everything in His hands. I ask for your understanding as this matter is handled through the proper channels,” Nympha captioned her Instagram post.

According to the statement, Nympha’s decision to pull out from the production “follows material breaches of contract by the organizers, which made her continued participation impossible.”

“While Ms. Nympha remained fully committed to her role, the circumstances forced her to take this step,” the statement read.

On Thursday,  Studio A Productions announced that Nympha withdrew from “Inday: The Musical,” which would have marked her musical theater debut.

The singer stepped away from the musical a day before its scheduled opening on October 16  at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium.

Featuring songs by the Manila Sound band Boyfriends, “Inday: The Musical” is described as “a musical stage experience of love, family, and memories.”

Nympha first gained attention in 2015 after joining the second season of “The Voice Kids,” where she competed under coach Bamboo Mañalac and eventually won the competition.
