Kris Aquino on mockery issue against son Josh: ‘There are people I should learn not to give oxygen to’
Kris Aquino penned a birthday message for her eldest son Josh, whom she considers her inspiration. Kris Aquino/IG/FileMANILA — Actress-host Kris Aquino on Friday finally broke her silence on controversial issue involving a group of podcasters that mocked her eldest son Joshua “Josh” Aquino.
On Instagram, Kris said that she will no longer exert effort responding to the “irresponsible and uninformed” opinions of others.
“Many of you may have wondered why i gave no statement to what were irresponsible & uninformed opinions. A friend who i admire for his wisdom told me there are people i should learn not to give oxygen to, in other words ignore and the issue dies a natural death. By never stating their names, or my feelings, they didn’t get the word war from me they were expecting,” Kris wrote.
Kris then shared how Josh and his younger brother Bimby, take turns caring for her amidst her health challenges.
“I haven’t felt the need to share with you what happens in our home. But to set the record straight, kuya is with me during our afternoon siesta, although mine stretches to 4 hours. When he sees Bimb going to his computer, kuya knows it’s his shift. And he loves to say: Mama your shoulder’s here. I sleep best with my head resting on Kuya’s shoulder and my arms wrapped around his left arm. It’s difficult because he can’t move but Monday to Friday kuya josh does his share to take care of his mama,” Kris said.
In her post, Aquino also revealed that after she did all her works, she underwent an operation.
She also expressed her gratitude to all her doctors and nurses.
Kris concluded her post positively by saying that she can’t give up the fight yet because of her sons.
“Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement. If i don’t post, i am in so much pain that i’m bedridden for 5 days, or if you don’t see reels- that’s the sign, i am in need of more prayers. I don’t want to ad to your burdens, i’ve read you admire my strength, that’s because i witnessed what our mom went through to prepare us, for life without her. I was 38 when she joined our maker. Bimb still needs more years to be ready for his lifelong responsibility of taking care of his kuya josh. That’s why ang mama nila hindi pa pwedeng isuko ang laban. 💛❤️💙,” Kris wrote.
Netizens, including those who are close to Josh and his mom, have already condemned the podcast Machong Chismisan and its hosts for the incident.
The Pod Network (TPN) has also terminated their contract with Machong Chismisan after its controversial episode.
Since early this week, the podcast hosts have been facing a backlash from netizens, following the now-deleted episode that was uploaded last October 5. Netizens, however, were able to grab a recording of the episode, which has been circulating online.
In that episode, Tito P compared brothers Bimby Aquino and Josh. “Si Bimby sobrang okay na anak, si Josh walang kwenta eh,” Tito P said.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Tito P explained what happened and revealed that he already reached out to those who were affected as he wants to apologize in person.
Josh is Kris’s son with actor Philip Salvador, while Bimby is her son with basketball star James Yap.
