UAAP: UP women make it back-to-back wins by taking down UE
MANILA — University of the Philippines recorded its second straight win in the UAAP Season 89 women’s basketball tournament on Saturday, pulling away for a 57-43 win over the University of the East at the Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila.
The result improved UP to 3-2 in the season.
“I like what I saw today. We are starting to gel as a team, getting to know our roles and how to finish games. Today, we know we played a team that hasn’t won a game, and we expected that they would be tenacious and that they would really fight until the end,” said UP head coach Eric Altamirano.
