EXCLUSIVE. One Music PH Asks: BNV2K

Independent band BNV2K puts in all the work to deliver meaningful, quality music.

Pop band BNV2K slowly builds their discography with their heartfelt songwriting.

The band — composed of leader Ven Cruz, co-founder Bito Bello, Aiyen Miñano, Chandlr Delos Reyes, RV Porton, Den Miñano and Win Manrique, as well as substitute members PJ Daban, Myta Kabigtin and Faye Mailen — took pride in their self-written songs’ ability to resonate with people regardless of its intended meaning, allowing listeners to relate to the songs in their own, special ways.

Starting off in 2020 as churchmates, many of their compositions reflect Christian music, but their audience is able to give their songs their own, unique meanings. Generally, the band’s music serve as inspirational anthems that draws from the members’ lived experiences and personal feelings.

“Most of the time, ‘yung mga songs namin, hindi niya inii-specify kung sino talaga ‘yung tinutukoy doon,” Ven said. Meanwhile, Bito shared reading comments on their YouTube page that have varying dedications for their song.

For BNV2K, appreciation for their songwriting uplifts them as a band, “if naiinspire namin sila when it comes to [our] music, they’re also inspiring us to do more songs pag ka nakakareceive po kami ng mga ganoong comments.”

Having existed for about six years, the band has had several changes, including their name going from meaning “Beats and Vibes” to “Banda ni Ven,” with the “2k” stemming from their 2000s musical influences. The band became more eager to pursue their music career after a content creator’s discovery of them gave them renewed momentum.

The band released their biggest song yet, “Nag Iisang Ikaw” in 2025, to which it has gone on to garner almost 100,000 streams on Spotify. The hopeful, motivational song recently appeared on the charts of one of Manila’s top radio stations. The group maintains their momentum with their preparation of an extensive promotional tour.

BNV2K feels proud about reaching such accomplishments as independent recording artists, calling their journey so far “overwhelming.” The freedom to control their music and their career however they want makes them glad about their status, however being an independent band admittedly comes with added hurdles.

“[In] terms of promotion and marketing ng mga songs […] kayang-kaya galawan ng band,” they said, “pero apart from that siguro medyo struggle or challenge sa band namin is ‘yung production po ng music.”

Label-free, the band currently produces their own music with their personal equipment. Also citing how they travel with their equipment, including microphones and speakers, from the province to the Metro whenever they book gigs somewhere.

As BNV2K looks toward growing and evolving as a band, the group said that they remain “100 percent” open to signing a record deal, “kung may chance na magka-label […] mas ma-uupgrade po siguro ‘yung tunog namin, kasi ayun mas quality po siguro ‘yung kalalabasan ng kanta.”
